Funky forest, after school sports

I'm not even going to try to explain.

I need rewatch Nake Lunch.

I don't use this phrase often but... WTF??

(I am now going to have to watch every "Funk forest" vid on youtube.)

Horrible joke? Or lesson they'll take to the apocalypse?

Yes. This is cruel. Do they make kids cry inthe name of entertainment? Yes. Do the kids kick ass? Yes. Yes they do. And the tabasco trick is brilliant.

You can stop watching after the attack unless you understand Japanese.

The Cool, Refreshing Tatse of Tentacle Rape

Tentacle Grape, the caffeinated grape soda.  Actual product.

"This new beverage, inspired by the genre of adult Japanese animation called Hentai, is a perfect caffeine rush for gamers, cosplayers, and comic book fans."

I was about to qualify that, while it is a real product, it is also tongue in cheek... but that phrase is too close to the topic.

Crazy Naked Spaniard in Japan

Posted almost entirely because the photo is so great.
Short version is a crazy naked Spaniard (only important because I love the phrase "crazy naked Spaniard") jumped in to the Japan Imperial Palace moat.
Oh, and the video is pretty frackin' awesome too. Especially as he terrorizes boats with rocks and climbs up rock walls like a pudgy naked Spider-man.

A couple of movies I want to see

The first is Paprika.
29 year old Dr. Atsuko Chiba is an attractive but modest Japanese research psychotherapist whose work is on the cutting edge of her field. Her alter-ego is a stunning and fearless 18 year old “dream detective,” code named PAPRIKA, who can enter into people’s dreams and synchronize with their unconscious to help uncover the source of their anxiety or neurosis.

Why can't the US start pushing animation? Although I doubt we'd ever name an 18 year old detective after a spice used on deviled eggs.
The second is Black Sheep.
On a vast New Zealand sheep station, a reckless genetic engineering experiment goes horribly wrong, turning sheep into bloodthirsty killers.

I mean, come on! How can that not be great?

Screw the Segway. Get me one of those!

Apparently one of these has been seen around Harajuku station in Tokyo. Reminds me a bit of the robots from Ghost in the Shell. It can apparently navigate curbs. No idea how fast it is, a long its battery life is (or if it even runs on batteries), or how the operator can cram their body into it. But I want one so bad.

Cold

Minnesota is cold. Damn cold. This is nothing new, but I forget how cold cold can be until I actualy witness how the cold can grip you and cut straight to the bone.

But the warmth is also there, a warmth I do find lacking in NYC. I sometimes forget that it can be extremely easy to laugh, and laugh hard. I can tap into a level of confidence and comfort that I don't seem to be able to always get to in NYC.

Humph.

There are certain things that make me so sad, certain things that I don't allow myself to have, that I deny myself. Why is that?

The is a grand pillow fight in Union Square on Saturday at 2pm and I'm going to miss it.

Humph.

Nice bartender (?) purchased our table a round of car bombs last night. That was good.

Going out to dinner with 2 couples tonight. There will actually be 7 people at the table as both women are "with child." Ah, the world of bumps.

Last note: Jake showed me Yatta! today. I was unfamiliar with this new "fad" of Japanese culture. Wow. We realy did a number on their psyche, didn't we?
