What do about friends' tumblrs

I have my issues with tumblr but I do understand the appeal. It is ideal for a purely personal/re-blogging blog (which is really no different from this one). It has become what LiveJournal once was but cleaner. Either way, I won't get a tumblr account because I would end up just posting the same things here.

But I do enjoy following friends tumblrs. I want to list the ones I follow but it doesn't seem quite right to put them in the same list as the other blogs and such that I have listed. Since my list updates (erratically) when there are new posts. Since tumblrs sometimes update a lot more often and often with out new content beyond comments from other tumblr's, they'd all end up at the top of the list all the time. Also, since it will end being friends' tumblrs and they will re-tumbl other tumbl posts, there will be a fair amount of redundant information (just like if you read Boing Boing and then read this blog).

So I'm going to make a separate list right below the one I've already listed.

I am also going to start pruning more blogs that don't get update often. If you haven't posted in a month... well, it's gonna get cut.

Bacon Explosion!

PapaSix forward me this receipe from BBQAddicts.com.  It's called Bacon Explosion.  I will be making this in the summer.  

Let me start with the shopping list:
2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

That's it.  Bacon, sausage, sauce, rub.  

And God said, "It was good."

Oh god. Look, I have had a goatee in the past. Sometimes I still end up growing one. The reason I do it now? Usually I haven't bought new razors and the blades are only sharp enough to shave the relatively easy areas of the cheeks and neck. Short answer: I do it when I'm lazy. So to have a tool (oh the irony of that word) to make goatee shaving easier is, well, mind boggling.

And, to be clear, this is a real product.

Drinking the Rainbow

Years ago, a friend of mine was taken on a bar crawl for her birthday. They 'forced' her to "Drink the Rainbow." At each bar she had to drink a beverage/cocktail matching a color in the rainbow: Red, Orange. Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. (If you are hard core, you can toss in infraded and ultraviolet, infrared being black and ultraviolet being white or clear.) You know, Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, something yellow (a Greyhound?), Grasshopper, etc. If I remember correctly she only made it through green.

This wonderful needle point from Craft made me think of it.
